LIMAVADY-based Roe Runners, Causeway Run Fit from Coleraine and Ballykelly Running Fitness, in a first merged for an evening of trail running at Mussenden Temple.

The evening saw 72 local runners come together. The event was facilitated by Go Run NI - a running community focused network created by Athletics Northern Ireland.

Commenting on the evening, Paula Wallace, participation development officer, Athletics Northern Ireland said: “We were delighted to help enable this fantastic evening alongside our partners from Roe Runners, Causeway Run Fit and Ballykelly Running Fitness.

“Go Run NI aims to support runners and run leaders within Northern Ireland to bring them together in a fun and supportive environment.

“It was wonderful to see so many runners from the North West out in full force, and the weather was very kind to us which made the evening even more special. A huge well done to everyone who took part.”

She concludes: “We plan to host another meet-up in the coming months, so stay tuned to our socials (Go Run Northern Ireland) for the date and location reveal. In the meantime, we would encourage anyone who is interested in starting to run (either as a beginner or a returner) to reach out to your local group ahead of the meet-up.

“The local groups mentioned can all be found on social media.”
