Northern Constitution...out now!

A jam-packed Northern Constitution is out in stores near you today; filled with the latest news from around the Roe Valley and borough!

Our leading story this week comes from Coleraine Magistrates Court where a father and two sons appeared before the judge, accused of murdering 17-year-old Blake Newland. District Judge Peter King adjourned the case for a prosecution update on March 25 when the defendants will appear by video link.

Local coffee takeaway Buzzed NI are flying high afer winning best coffee at the recent NI Takeaway Awards last week. Ethan Price, co-founder of Buzzed NI said: "We were absolutely over the moon to have won an award this year, and to top it winning Best Coffee was amazing. Our team support us endlessly and we have the most amazing group, it would never be possible without every single person involved." Full story on page 2.

On page 4, we reported on LIPS new initiative targeting young people in the community to discuss looking after their mental health. Their new series of youth talks began during Children’s Mental Health Week 2024, with 26 young men aged 13 – 17 from 1st Limavady Boys’ Brigade. Mary Molloy, project manager said: "As a community we need to work towards compassionately removing the societal shame attached to suicide in order to make it easier for those who have thoughts of ending their own life to reach out for help." On page 12 we also have photos from a quiz night fundraising for Cancer Focus NI. The event was organised by Limavady Fitness Factor Challenge and Limavady Crossfit and was held at Limavady Cricket & Rugby Football Club. Can you spot any familiar faces?
